We pride ourselves on being an organisation which is responsive to emerging industry trends. We are engaged in on-going discussion with industry taking into consideration their present and future professional development requirements. Monash Professional has harnessed the expertise available through the research resources within Monash University and, professional practitioners who are currently working as ‘specialists in their field’ and are involved in consultation roles with industry. Supported by experienced course developers we are expanding our suite of product offerings to include Specialist Programs.
The first area of development has been the Expert Witness preparation program:
In conjunction with the Monash University Faculty of Law, we have identified a demand for a training specially designed for individuals who may be called upon to act as expert witnesses in court proceedings.
Expert witnesses are recognised specialists in their profession and are typically active members of their relevant professional association. They are called upon by legal teams and also the various courts of law throughout Australia and overseas to assist judges and juries in determining facts based on evidence. This is particularly relevant to situations where the nature of the enquiry in dependent on expertise, specialised knowledge and familiarity with similar circumstances, patterns of behaviour or presenting characteristics.
