The pervasiveness of the Internet and email in all our lives, especially in the running of organisations, has increased the need for staff with up-to-date expertise in architecting, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting your organisation's network.
Monash Professional is renowned as the premium provider of Cisco Networking certification training. Organisations can be confident that graduates of Monash Professional's Cisco Certified Networking Associate training program will not only have the requisite body of knowledge to manage networks, but have also received substantial practical experience in configuring and maintaining networks.
Training is provided in the fundamentals of network computing, LANs/ WANs, Routing, Switches, Wireless LANs, and Network security, including the configuration and management of PIX Firewalls.
We also provide practical laboratory training for all aspects of networking in the Microsoft Windows 2003 Server environment. This includes network design and implementation. These courses also prepare candidates to take the relevant Microsoft certification exams.
The System Administrator is an individual responsible for maintaining a multi-user computer system, including a local-area network (LAN). Typical duties include:
- Adding and configuring new workstations
- Setting up user accounts
- Installing system-wide software
- Performing procedures to prevent the spread of viruses
- Allocating mass storage space.
The System Administrator is sometimes called the ‘sysadmin’ or the Systems Administrator. Small organisations may have just one System Administrator, whereas larger enterprises usually have a team.
Monash Professional has courses that cover all aspects of ‘sysadmin’ in both the Unix and Microsoft Windows environments.
To assist both System Administrators and others responsible for the management and procurement of IT systems, the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concept emerged in the 1980s, when the British government determined that the level of IT service quality provided to them was not sufficient. In 2007, version 3 of ITIL was published. This adopted more of a life-cycle approach to service management with greater emphasis on IT business integration.
Monash Professional currently offers ITIL 2.0 Foundation Certificate classes and is soon to release the new version 3.0 ITIL foundation course.
