PRINCE2™ is a Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce, UK.
Overview:
Planning and managing projects to meet the agreed project objectives, resource, time and cost constraints, and quality requirements is critical in today’s competitive environment. Project Management (PM) is a demanding and complex profession, with numerous technical and management skills required. To add to the complexity of the profession, Project Managers are expected to move across widely varying business environments and adapt to their systems.
PRINCE2™ is a structured method of effective project management. It was officially adopted by the UK Government in 1979. PRINCE™ was extensively developed by an expert panel and by 1989 had become an established standard for best practice project management. Today it still sets the benchmark for excellence in project management methodologies. In 1996 the upgraded and totally redeveloped Version 2 was issued, incorporating the lessons learned over the previous years of real life operations in a full range of projects, from simple, short-term projects to highly complex, long-term, multiple stage, high value projects. PRINCE2™ is now a de facto standard and is widely used in the UK, Australia, Canada, Holland, South Africa, parts of the Middle East and throughout other parts of the world. PRINCE2™ continues to be adopted by more organisations and is growing rapidly in popularity and acceptance in both Government and the business world.
PRINCE2 ™ is one of the main PM methodologies that provide a framework within which many of the processes and outputs are defined. It is a well defined, process-driven method for effective project management.
This course thoroughly covers the content of the PRINCE2™ Foundation syllabus and prepares participants to pass the PRINCE2™ Foundation certification exam. Qualification at the Foundation Level provides an opportunity to proceed to the Practitioner Level through attending Course 162: PRINCE2™ Practitioner Tutorial Training.
The PRINCE2™ method is owned by the British Crown and administered by the UK Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and managed by the UK-based APM Group. Conscium International is the APMG Accredited Training Organisation delivering the course at Monash IT
