Homestay
Monash Professional – Internships can arrange accommodation in Australia with a local Homestay host. There is a fee for accommodation placement of $200.
Homestay accommodation is usually outside the central business district of the city but generally within 60 minutes travel to the host company.
Homestay with meals: $260 per week.
- The intern will have his/her own room in a house or apartment.
- The weekly fee includes breakfast and dinner during the week and breakfast, lunch and dinner on the weekends.
Homestay without meals: $200 per week.
- The intern will have his/her own room in a house or apartment.
- No meals are included.
Airport transfer: $120
- The intern is met at the airport and transported to the Homestay.
Please note
- Australia is a multicultural society with a variety of family types such as two parents with children, single parents, and childless couples.
- Four week's notice period must be given before changing or leaving Homestay.
- Generally interns do their own laundry in the Homestay house or apartment and are responsible for the cleanliness of their own room.
- Interns are able to use the Homestay telephone but need to purchase a telephone card for long distance calls.
- Although not all Homestays have internet access, there are many internet cafes in every city and most suburbs.
