It is essential that an applicant for a Monash Professional Internship program in Australia has the minimum standard of English. Monash Professional requires a minimum English language level of IELTS 6 (or equivalent) for applicants to participate. This is because all communication during the internship will be in English. The better your English; the more you will gain from the program.

A member of the Monash Professional Placement team will contact you early in the process to assess your English language proficiency level. If you are from a non-English speaking country, and should it be deemed necessary, they will recommend you undertake an English language course in Australia prior to the start of your internship. Monash Professional can provide applicants with a range of English language course options that can be arranged prior to the commencement of your internship, if required.
Courses are available through Monash University English Language Centre (MUELC) in Melbourne, or through Monash Professional partners in cities across Australia. These English programs are specifically designed to prepare you for your internship. They focus on business communication and Australian cultural expressions, rather than on general or academic English.
