I had an absolutely fantastic time in Australia and the internship Monash Professional organized for me has already helped me loads when looking for a graduate job in England. I did lots of different tasks at my internship which included booking people in for interviews, carrying out visa and immigration checks, designing posters for a variety of events, interviewing people, helping organise recruitment days, created a training matrix for the hotel, data entry and assisted with other general human resources duties. The Staff was fantastic! They all made sure I changed tasks every few hours so I didn’t get bored, they gave me lots of responsibility, took me out for drinks after work and even booked me in for a massage in the hotel as a thank you half way through my internship! Thank you so much for the internship, the trips and the Thursday meetings!

I really enjoyed learning new things that I can use in my career later on in life. This internship has been a great opportunity to compare and contrast the different countries’ way of running university programs for students. I was involved in 3 main projects and I loved the ability to work on multiple tasks that, all different. Monash is one of the main reasons we’ve been able to travel so much! The weekend trips they offer aren’t expensive and you get to see Australia at its best! We loved the accommodation, it is such a convenient location and the people we lived with couldn’t have been better! Monash has always been willing to help us in any way they can and really make sure we are happy with everything, and they are always in touch with us making sure everything is going smoothly! I really appreciate the effort they put into the interns they place. I’ve really enjoyed every aspect of my internship! I couldn’t have asked for more!

I had various projects to do at my internship. The biggest and most interesting was probably the search for a PR and a Branding agency. I was allowed to participate in meetings with the Branding agency which was really great and made me learn a lot. Then I had to finalize the Marketing Plan for 2008 which gave me a good overview what the company does. Furthermore I built up a hotel school database as a source for future clients. Last but not least I organized the company’s marketing material and helped in the daily business. The working environment was amazing. People were so nice and friendly which gave me the impression that I am welcome and I get support whenever I need it. Having lunch or drinks together, getting a cake for my birthday and that I was allowed to participate on their Team Building day made the internship to a time a will never forget. This experience showed me the difference to the working environment in Austria and made me realize that I like working in Australia much more than in Austria. Above that I enjoyed being involved in important projects and therefore meetings.

I also attended most of the after works drinks and they were great as they gave me the opportunity to meet other interns from all over the globe. All in all the internship and my trip to Australia was the best thing I could do as I experienced the best time of my life with a lot new friends and a country full of great places.

The internship gave me the great opportunity to work abroad and learn how work gets done in a country with a different culture and market structure. I’ve learnt a lot about the processes and the Australian market. During my internship I was involved in the design and layout of an advertisement for an environmental business magazine and a product flyer for their website.

In addition, my company gave me the opportunity to learn things I wanted to learn. So I learnt Adobe Photoshop and other desktop publishing programs.

What’s more I could improve my English, especially business English skills. After work I met other interns from Monash Professional, I was going surfing with my flat mate or went to the After Work Thursday functions organised by Monash Professional. I can not wait to come back to Australia!

I worked in the Editorial department, where I learnt a lot about Journalism. I wrote some articles about New Zealand and Australia. I loved it! What I enjoyed most was getting the chance to work with Australians. The people are so relaxed and it was great to work with them. Monash Professional did everything perfectly! I loved my accommodation, my internship couldn’t be better, social events were great and they were very helpful! I didn't want to leave!

I’ve learnt a lot about Project Management in Public Services. I really appreciated that they allowed me to have responsibility - I was organising contracts, managed financial systems, did basic accounting tasks and projects, wrote letters of agreement… The whole work atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly.

I also enjoyed Sydney – it was very inspiring to see such a multicultural environment – it opens your mind. I’m also glad that you guys thought about the social part of an internship, the after work drinks as well. It was good to be meeting people. You were always available when needed. In conclusion, it was a great experience and I’m very happy I did it!

The caliber of the students we have had is exceptional. They are independent and solid in their knowledge of mechanical applications - a credit to Monash Professional. We have enjoyed all the students and hope they have gained some knowledge of our way of life and of course exposure to the area of mechanical engineering.

One recent intern with us tackled a large project and succeeded in completing the majority of the mechanical design. We would not have been able to do this due to a lack of design manpower. The program was also of benefit in the area of revisiting our own methods of design and recognition of the mechanical design tools now available on the web.

I was very happy with my internship! I enjoyed being in the oil/gas industry in Australia and learnt a lot about my area of interest. I got a general overview and training in this industry - law point searches, petroleum exploration leases, visited a well situated in Singleton, attended a very important meeting with a large oil companies…

This industry doesn’t always have great cites to work in so doing my internship in Sydney was great!

The teamwork was the most important workflow in the office and I really enjoyed working together with everyone, both in the marketing and photography departments.
