Work and Travel USA
Monash Professional is delighted to announce the launch of our new Work and Travel USA program. This program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical training in their field of studies whilst allowing the flexibility for them to travel independently and explore the USA.
On arrival participants will be placed in a 6 month pre-arranged work placement related to their studies. On completion of the work placement, participants will have the opportunity to continue with the same company, move on to a more general work placement or simply travel independently.
Internships can be undertaken in a range of industries including Business Administration, IT, Marketing, Architecture, Hotel Management and Civil Engineering. Other fields may be available on request (subject to availability).
Location
Internships are available in a range of locations including California, Las Vegas, New England, Washington, Chicago, Florida and more. While you can state your preferred location, specific requests can not be guaranteed.
Self arranged work placement can be undertaken in your preferred location.
Applicant requirements
This program is available to Australian and New Zealand citizens who are current tertiary students or have graduated within 12 months of their arrival in USA.
Length of Program
Our Work & Travel Program is designed for stays of up to 12 months.
Internship Placement
Interns will form an important part of an American company and will be required to work full time hours for a six month period. Interns will be paid the same wage as their American counterparts with a minimum income of US$1200 per month.
Program Fees
A$1995 + GST

- 24 hour emergency number during your stay
- Assistance securing a Social Security Number
- Letter of reference from your host company

Visa requirements
Applicants will apply for the J1 Work & Travel Visa. Our partner in USA will arrange the DS 2019 form necessary for this visa.
