Professional Internships in China

Location

The optional Mandarin language course will be conducted by Tsinghua University in Beijing. Tsinghua is located in the North Western suburbs of Beijing on the site of the former royal garden of the Qing Dynasty.

Your internship can be undertaken in your choice of Beijing or Shanghai. As the economic and cultural hubs of China, there is a concentration of business, government and culture in these two cities. China is an exciting place to live with a vibrant mix of foods, culture, history and shopping. China’s unique culture, beautiful and diverse landscape and the friendly and relaxed manner of the Chinese people make it easy to "fit in".

Applicant requirements

Applicants must be aged 18 years or over and should have a strong interest in the Chinese culture.

Applicants should have a minimum of one year's study in their chosen field.

Length of Program

The program contains two parts. The first is a Mandarin language course which must be taken for a minimum of four weeks. The second component is the internship which can be taken for 8 - 26 weeks.

Details of Internship placement

Internships are structure training and development programs within a company. Unpaid internships are available in a wide range of fields including accounting, aged care and child care, agriculture, arts, banking & finance, education, engineering, forestry, government, graphic design, health, hospitality and tourism, IT, law & politics, sales and marketing, media, journalism, marine science, retail and more.

Applicants are expected to train for full time hours and will be an active member of the company.

4 – 12 week internship placement only A$1950 + GST
12 – 26 week internship placement only A$2195 +GST
4 week Mandarin course + 4 – 12 week internship placement A$2995 +GST

Language Requirements

No prior knowledge of Mandarin language is required as applicants are given intensive Mandarin language training through Tsinghua University prior to the commencement of their internship placement. Applicants with upper intermediate Mandarin language skills and above may be exempt from the Mandarin language course.

Visa requirements

Monash Professional will assist you acquire the appropriate visa for the duration of the program.
